Two Critical Reasons why Conservatory Pianos require the Piano Life Saver System

Customer Lists

The following lists include Piano Life Saver System installations made since 1999 in the U.S. and Canada.
Compiled from warranty registrations.

PLEASE NOTE: 75% of our Systems are installed in the home setting. That customer list is not available to the public.

1. The System keeps the pitch stable so tunings hold longer.

Conservatory piano technicians need pianos to hold their tunings. If the piano is constantly forced far off pitch by shrinking and swelling of the soundboard (caused by too-low or too-high humidity), the piano cannot hold a tuning. (Not realizing this, students and instructors sometimes blame the technician if the piano sounds horrid again after a recent tuning)

The tuning of any stringed instrument, that relies on the resonance of wood for tone, is always at the mercy of climate. However, a piano’s unique design, spanning more than seven octaves, responds to humidity-change quite unevenly, often resulting in vast distortions of musical pitch from range to range. Left unprotected, the most carefully- crafted tuning, is entirely defenseless against seasonal, daily and even momentary fluctuations of humidity. The Piano Life Saver solves the mystery of pitch stability, providing a stable foundation for tunings that last.

2. The System prevents high-cost repairs which result from humidity extremes.

Conservatory piano technicians need to protect pianos from damaging humidity fluctuations because they often do not have the funds nor the time required to repair damaged pianos. Comparing the costs of major repairs with the System's cost makes the cost-savings obvious.

Pianos, like fine works of art, can suffer ongoing and costly deterioration from their environment, regardless of use. Over time, damage from seasonal extremes can devastate a piano inventory, perhaps beyond the resources and abilities available to restore, much less replace it. A Piano Life Saver however, provides an automatic and continuous protection from the effects of institutional heating, ventilation and air conditioning. This is a remarkably cost-effective solution to extending the critical life span of a piano inventory.
